Record of Agarest War: Mariage, known as Agarest Senki: Mariage (アガレスト戦記Mariage, Agaresuto Senki Mariage) in Japan, is a tactical role-playing game developed by Idea Factory and Red Entertainment exclusively for the PSP. It will be published by Compile Hearts as always. It should be released in Japan during July. New Artist Blade is doing the character designs and the team behind Summon Night is developing it.

Why do you have to get married and have kids? A long time ago, a man fell in love with a Rainbow Girl who came from the heavens. She gave him a Rainbow Sword, which the man used to defeat monsters and eventually became known as a hero. Then a demon king came and wrecked the world. The hero rose up and fought the devil king, but died in battle. To keep his spirit alive, three girls carried his soul to pass down to the next generation along with the Rainbow Sword so one day one of his descendants could defeat the devil king.

Rain is the first hero in Record of Agarest War Marriage. He’s been training to defeat the devil king and he’s destined to fail since the game has multiple generations. (spoiler alert?) He can fall in love with Paninya (a dancer who excels in magic and carries an oversized scythe), Farsia (his childhood friend) or Kunka (a catgirl with a childish personality).

Differences/ImprovementsEdit

There are many changes and improvements from the original Agarest games.

• There is only 3 generations in this game.
• For the first time in the series, there will be a female protagonist in the second generation. Whether she is the main protagonist or the sister of the male lead remains to be seen.
• There are certain conditions that must be met for the female protagonist to be born.
• The protagonist can choose his wife earlier and can spend some time with them, ie Honeymooning.
• This will be the first game for the PSP.
• It is unknown if it shares the same timeline as the rest of the series.
• The female characters can change their clothing mid battle including swimsuits. It is assumed this unlock extra powers.
• The battle system is greatly changed into something similar to those of such game like Neptunia and Trinity Universe.
• The World Map is graphics improved with each area having a new icon.
• This game will feature with seem to be the first Transforming Golem (DDD/ Akuma). It will also feature the Orc that will play a main role as a villain.
